 ℘ First Impressions ✠ VISUAL: Regis Lucis Caelum is a tall (6'1) stately old man who appears to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. Regis appears to be older than his age, despite the fact that he is only 50 years old. Regis appears tired and worn, but despite the Crystal's effects on him, he keeps his head held high. He's a proud Lucian who wears the mantle of a king admirably. ✠ FASHION: Black is often associated with the Lucian royal family. So it's no surprise that the majority of Regis' regal wardrobe is black, with occasional pops of color. Regis' preferred color appears to be a variety of shades of indigo. In terms of metals, Regis appears to prefer silver to gold. ✠ DEMEANOUR: Regis is selfless, kind, and born to rule; he embodies everything a king should be. In terms of stature and ideals, he outperforms his peers. He is the type of man who always looks to the future rather than dwelling on the past. He is a firm believer that a king must always move forward while accepting the consequences of his or her decisions. Regis is a fearless and stern king, but he is also a loving and concerned father. He is deeply saddened by the fate that awaits his son, Noctis, and feels guilty for being powerless to help. Regis believes in the strength of his royal bloodline but remains concerned for Noctis. ✠ SOUND: In the cinematic animation Final Fantasy XV: Kingsglaive, Regis is voiced by none other than the talented Sean Bean from Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones fame. To say the least, Regis possesses hints of Sean Bean's classic Yorkshire accent in the film that were unfortunately stripped from the game proper. I'll be using Sean Bean's take on Regis' voice. So yes, he does indeed sound English. ✠ SCENT: Regis tends to stick with earthier scents like frankincense and rosemary, with a hint of citrus in the form of bergamot. ✠ MENTAL INFORMATION: Mentally, Regis is solid like a rock. The man is unyielding in his convictions without sacrificing any sort of empathy. He's stable, for the most part. A far cry from others in his canon who seem deluded by notions of grandeur and power. ✠ MAGICAL INFORMATION: In his heydays, Regis was a rather powerful man. Able to not only wield the might of the Crystal but also that of the Royal Arms, Regis was a stark opponent against the Niflheim forces in his youth. His proficiency with magic is unlike any other since Regis is capable of summoning bolts of lightning at just a mere thought. While he might be a swordsman at heart, Regis's uncanny affinity to magic makes him quite a threat. He also seems to be capable of forming magical barriers around himself and others, even without the Crystal's might. Regis is like a unique mix between a Black Mage and a White Mage. It's quite interesting, to say the least. |
